Tickets will be available to purchase online from September 2026 via the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham website. Details on ticket release dates, pricing and packages will be announced soon.

EVENT OVERVIEW

A team-based discipline of figure skating where up to 16 skaters perform together in perfect union. Teams execute complex formations, transitions, and elements while skating at high speed, combining speed, precision and artistry.

ISU Synchronized Skating World Championships 2027 (2 – 4 April 2027)

Synchro9 is a new synchronized skating format developed to modernise the discipline and make it more engaging for global audiences.

It features nine skaters per team and introduces a faster, more dynamic competition structure designed for both live events and broadcast.

With the new addition of Synchro9, there will be even more for families to enjoy - from fast-paced competition and team spirit on the ice, to the wider festival atmosphere around the event.

No, Synchronized Skating is easy to enjoy even as a first-time spectator.

Synchronized Skating combines speed, precision, music and teamwork in a way that feels completely different live.

Teams move across the ice in constantly changing formations, with every skater relying on split-second timing and total trust in one another. It’s powerful, highly skilled and brilliant to watch in an arena atmosphere.

Nottingham is a vibrant, welcoming city in the heart of the UK, with excellent road and rail links for visitors travelling from across the country or further afield. 

The city is around 90 minutes from London by train and is well connected to major UK cities including Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield. Nearby airports include East Midlands Airport, Birmingham Airport and Manchester Airport.

Nottingham is easy to reach for visitors travelling from across the UK and overseas.

International visitors can fly into East Midlands Airport, which is around 35 minutes by car from Nottingham city centre and the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham. The Skylink bus also runs direct services from the airport to Nottingham, with regular departures throughout the day and night.

Birmingham Airport is around one hour away by car, while Manchester Airport is approximately two hours away.

Visitors travelling by train can reach Nottingham from London in around 90 minutes, with the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham just a short walk or tram ride from Nottingham Station.

The Festival of Synchro will be a major moment for Nottingham, welcoming athletes, teams and fans from across the world.

Alongside the competitions, plans are being developed to bring the festival atmosphere into the city, creating a warm welcome for visitors, and giving Nottingham its own place in this first-of-its-kind celebration. This includes a fan village, ice trail through the city, and an ice rink in Nottingham’s Market Square.
