SANCTION OVERTURNED
In November 2017 the International Olympic Committee [IOC] found that he had committed an anti-doping violation at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. His result from the Games was disqualified, and he received a lifetime ban from the Olympic Games. In February 2018 the Court of Arbitration for Sport [CAS] overturned the IOC decision against him and a number of other Russian athletes, annulling the sanctions and reinstating his results. However, the IOC did not invite him to compete at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.
