    She and her brother Park Se-Yeong became the first siblings to represent the Republic of Korea together in short track at an Olympic Winter Games when they competed at the 2014 Games in Sochi.     She considered retirement after winning two gold medals in short track at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, but eventually decided to switch to speed skating. She made her international debut in the discipline at the 2014 World Cup event in Obihiro, Japan, finishing 13th in the 1000m.
