At age 16 years and 255 days he became the second-youngest male Canadian short track athlete to participate in a World Cup event when he competed in Montreal, QC, Canada, in October 2022. His bronze medal in the mixed 2000m relay at the event made him the youngest Canadian male short track athlete to win a medal at a World Cup event. In 2021/22 he joined Canada's 'Next Gen' development team, and went on to become Canada's youngest male short track skater to win a World Cup medal in 2022. He achieved the milestone in front of family and friends in Montreal, QC, Canada. "This summer [2022] it's certainly been bizarre to skate often with skaters who were my idols when I was younger, so I'm proud. It's going well, they are giving me tips and we help each other a lot. It's cool to do my first World Cup at home, in front of my family and friends. It's my first season at international level and the first year of a new Olympic cycle.
