She has taken part in training programmes across the world, and has had to develop effective ways of managing her time to keep up with her school work. "I have trained in Canada, Utah [in the United States of America], the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the UK, and I have gone to [the Republic of] Korea to train over the summer. I take whatever small periods I have at home or sometimes in the car to do my homework. I've gotten used to it." (wisdateline.org, 01 Apr 2020)

She trains six days a week. Her sessions consist of two hours of off-ice exercise or cardio work and one to two hours of on-ice skating.
She became interested in the sport after watching the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. "My mum asked me what sport I wanted to try and I thought speed skating was cool. I love the strategy and competition. Since it is at such a high speed, you get an adrenaline rush. It is really exciting."
