BREAK FROM SPORT
In April 2022 he announced that he was taking a break from the sport to focus on his studies and completing his national service. "Unfortunately I will be taking a break from full-time training to finish up on my studies at Republic Polytechnic and Singapore Sports School, and to also fulfil my national service duties. HEALTH CONDITIONS
He was born with a club foot, respiratory distress, haemolytic anaemia, and a congenital heart disease. As a child he improved his balance through dancing as well as skating. "I wasn't able to balance well before [because of his club foot] and had to watch out for myself more. I tried to make use of my dance skills to help as much as possible. He initially took up skating as a hobby, but began taking it more seriously after his interest in the sport increased.
