His brothers, Farrell and Niall, have also represented Great Britain in short track. "When one of us is struggling our first port of call would be the other brothers and we would provide that support. I think in terms of pushing us forward with the competitive edge we've had, we are always chasing each other's heels. There's always been competition growing up between us in everything we do - even in the littlest and silliest things such as wrestling for the front car seat. But as we go through our careers this competition between us is to our advantage as we are able to push each other in training and competition." "I was attracted to the speed and wanted to race my older brother, Farrell. It looked like fun. With speed skating, I loved the chaos of it all and the feeling of adrenaline pumping through you. After I felt that adrenaline for the first time, all the other sports seemed boring."
