RETIREMENT
In October 2022 he announced his retirement from short track in order to focus on his tattoo studio Goons and Queens Heerenveen in the Netherlands. "In addition to skating, I have been busy opening a tattoo studio and I've been putting a lot of energy into it. I tried to qualify for the world cups, but unfortunately I didn't succeed. That also says something about the competitive level in the Netherlands, I can't just compete with them anymore."
