SWITCHING TO ICE
She began her career as an inline skater before taking up short track in 2018 with the aim of competing at the Olympic Winter Games. She combined both disciplines until 2020 when she started to focus on ice. "Transitioning to ice was not easy. Short track was hard for a couple of years. I needed to get my technique down and fix some bad habits on the ice. But like inline, short track is very aggressive and anything can happen. I enjoy the adrenaline rush but I think I'm quite calm, and that helps me. A lot of skaters get nervous, so one of my good qualities is that I can control it and pull off a good performance under pressure." (isu.org, 26 Oct 2022; seattletimes.com, 22 Jan 2022)
She has represented the United States of America in roller speed skating and speed skating. On the ice she competed at the 2018 World Junior Championships in Salt Lake City, UT, United States of America, while on wheels she placed 45th in the road marathon at the 2019 World Roller Games in Barcelona, Spain.
