Ice Maples Rising: Canada's Historic Crystal Globe Triumph

09 Apr 2025

In an extraordinary and unprecedented season, Team Canada’s Ice Maples dominated the inaugural ISU Short Track World Tour with sheer determination, exceptional teamwork, and an unwavering drive for excellence. Their remarkable performance saw them secure 21 gold medals, 11 silver, and 5 bronze, securing the prestigious and first-ever Team Crystal Globe in the process.

From the electrifying atmosphere of their home victory in Montreal to podium-topping achievements across the globe, skaters like William Dandjinou and Steven Dubois consistently rose to the occasion. Their remarkable performances embodied the essence of peak athleticism, thrilling fans at every stop on the ISU Short Track World Tour.

Key team members, including Jordan Pierre-Gilles, Florence Brunelle, and Danae Blais, further highlighted the Ice Maples’ commitment to excellence. Each race was a testament to the unity, confidence, and shared joy among team members, showcasing how their collective spirit was their ultimate strength.

Behind their groundbreaking success stood unparalleled camaraderie, relentless communication, and extraordinary collaboration across both the men’s and women’s teams. Team mate Kim Boutin attributes much of their success to the chemistry fostered in training, selfless teamwork, and the invaluable support from coaches and staff. The team’s commitment to one another was evident in how they exchanged insights, elevated each other’s performances, and built profound respect and trust within their ranks.

Their journey transcended beyond the rink, culminating in emotional post-race celebrations. Each member celebrated not just individual accomplishments, but the collective effort that led to their historic Team Crystal Globe victory. This journey was more than about medals, it was a powerful testament to passion, unity, and an unforgettable team legacy.
