Glitz, Glam, and Greatness: Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir to Host the Spectacular ISU Figure Skating Awards 2025!

29 Mar 2025

The countdown is on! The excitement is building as we approach the ISU Figure Skating Awards 2025. The International Skating Union (ISU) is thrilled to announce that Olympic Champion Tara Lipinski (USA) and ISU World medalist Johnny Weir (USA) will be taking center stage as the charismatic hosts of this year’s awards ceremony on Sunday, March 30.

A Legendary Duo on and off the Ice

Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir have become popular and vibrant Figure Skating commentators following their distinguished careers on the ice. Since 2014, they have been the primary figure skating commentators for NBC, captivating audiences with their expertise and entertaining insights at events such as the Olympic Winter Games and the ISU World Figure Skating Championships.

Known for their perfect blend of professionalism and personality, Lipinski and Weir bring an unmatched energy to every event they host. Their dynamic chemistry makes them the ideal duo to reveal the winners at this year’s ISU Figure Skating Awards, promising an evening full of excitement, elegance, and unforgettable moments.

About the Hosts

Tara Lipinski etched her name in history at just 14 years old by becoming the youngest female skater to ever win the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in 1997. She went on to make history again by clinching Olympic gold in 1998, once again as the youngest to do so. After retiring from competitive skating, Lipinski continued to dazzle audiences in ice shows before transitioning to commentary.

Johnny Weir is a two-time Olympian (2006, 2010) and the 2008 ISU World bronze medalist. After retiring from competition in 2013, he became a sought-after performer in ice shows across the globe. In 2014, he joined NBC as a figure skating analyst alongside Lipinski, forming one of the most iconic duos in sports broadcasting.
