The ISU and its Skaters Celebrate Olympic Day 2025: Find Your +1 and Let’s Move !
23 Jun 2025
As a proud supporter of the Olympic movement, the International Skating Union (ISU) and the global skating community are eager to once again take part in the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) #LetsMove campaign celebrating the power of movement to connect, unite, and inspire joy.
This Olympic Day, the ISU invites ice-skating enthusiasts everywhere to join the celebration and spread the spirit of movement: lace up your skates, hit the ice with a friend, and share your moments of joy. Because moving together is better!
What’s even more fun than moving? Moving together! This year’s Olympic Day theme “Let’s Move?” is all about rediscovering the joy of movement – together. Whether it's on the ice, at home, outdoors, or in your local community, getting just 30 minutes of movement a day can make a big difference to physical and mental well-being. And yet, inactivity remains a global concern. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 80% of young people fall short of the recommended daily activity levels for good health - a challenge further combined with increasing social isolation.
In active support of the IOC’s Let’s Move mission, the ISU has partnered with several skaters around the world to promote the benefits of moving more - and moving together. With simple, fun actions, every small step counts. Together, we can make a lasting impact and go further.
"Movement is more than just physical activity - it’s a powerful way to build connection, spark joy, and strengthen community”, said ISU President Jae Youl Kim. “That’s why the ISU is proud to support the Olympic Day and the IOC’s Let’s Move campaign, which perfectly aligns with our vision and values. As President of the ISU and an IOC Member, I am excited to see our global skating family come together - not just on Olympic Day, but every day - to champion the benefits of an active lifestyle. From grassroots programs to world-class competitions, promoting movement and well-being is at the heart of everything we do. Through every glide and stride, we can inspire healthier, more connected lives. Let’s move together - on the ice and beyond."
Skaters who move together, inspire together:
Skaters inspire millions of fans and spectators with their passion for movement every time they compete or perform on the ice. As part of this campaign, several skaters from around the world and across all ice-skating disciplines are coming together to show just how easy - and fun - it is to get moving, whether on the ice or off, especially when shared with someone else.
- Jason Brown (USA), top-ranked Figure Skating icon, keeps movement a family affair - joining his parents for cycling sessions and home workouts on the floor.
- 2025 Spanish National Champions and 6th-place finisher at the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships, Olivia Smart (ESP) picks her Ice Dance partner Tim Dieck (ESP) to train their choreography on and off the ice.
- 11-time Winter Olympic Short Track medalist Arianna Fontana (ITA) is joined by Team Canada for a few dance moves on the ice celebrating the Olympic Day.
- The Helsinki Rockettes (FIN), 2025 ISU World Synchronized Skating Champions, are always in motion – at the rink or outside – moving as one, together.
