- bio
Abitbol/Bernadis teamed up in 1992. They are working on the throw triple axel, but have not yet landed one in competition. They are the first French pair skaters to win a medal at Worlds (a bronze in Nice 2000) since Andree Brunet/Pierre Brunet took the gold in 1932. The couple had to withdraw from the 2002 Olympic Winter Games after Abitbol suffered a rupture of her achilles tendon in practice. Abitbol was off the ice for about 6 months. Abitbol/Bernadis switched coaches after the European Championships 2003. Their new coach Simond is a two-time European silver medalist (1981 and 1982) in men singles.
