Hurtado/Diaz are the first ice dance couple to represent Spain in ISU competition and at the Olympic Winter Games. They teamed up in 2008. They switched coaches and moved to Canada for training in December 2011. Coaches Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon are the 2006 and 2007 World silver medalists in ice dance, competing for Canada.
