Della Monica/Guarise teamed up in 2011. He competed successfully in roller skating and won the world title in 2008 with partner Sara Venerucci before switching to figure skating in 2010. Guarise also worked as a model. He competed with a meniscus injury to his right knee at the Olympic Winter Games 2014 and underwent surgery right afterwards. Della Monica retired from competitive skating end of 2010 due to injuries but decided to come back
