Silverstein/Pekarek were the second US dance team to win Junior Worlds (the first ones were Jessica Joseph/Charles Butler). Silverstein began skating at the age of 3. The athletes she admires most are Todd Eldredge (single skater) and Elizabeth Punsalan/Jerod Swallow (ice dance team). She always puts her right skate on first. Silverstein collects stuffed animals (dogs). She would like to pursue a career in sports psychology. Pekarek began skating at the age of 5. The athlete he admires most is Tiger Woods (golf player) and ice dancer Christopher Dean. He aspires to be an automotive engineer and design cars. This is Silverstein/Pekarek's first season in the senior circuit.
