Cannuscio started skating at age 4 because her aunt took her and some cousins to a rink. Her sister Anastasia (one and a half years younger) competes in ice dance at the international level as well. Cannuscio's parents own an Italian restaurant, and she works there part time. Lorello also was a nationally ranked fencer and is teaching gymnastics. He has three siblings, all of whom are ice dancers. His older brother Alexander placed 12th at the U.S. National Championships in 2009.
