Zhang/Bartholomay teamed up in May 2011. Zhang started skating at age 7 after attending a skating birthday party. She is the 2008 U.S. novice bronze medalist in singles and the 2010 National Junior Pairs Champion with former partner Taylor Toth. Bartholomay followed his older sister Jamie into skating. He played baseball from ages 5 to 18 before entirely focusing on skating.
