Cheng/Zhang teamed up in 2012. They have performed quadruple twists in competition. Zhang is the 2006 Olympic silver medalist and a multiple World medalist with former partner Dan Zhang. Dan Zhang retired from competitive skating following the 2011/12 season. Zhang got married to Ju Chi in May 2014. Their son was born on May 8, 2015. Coach Hongbo Zhao is the 2010 Olympic Champion in Pair Skating (with Xue Shen).
