Kerry competed in singles at the World level before switching to Ice Dance. Her older brother Brendan competes in singles at the World and Olympic level and her mother (and coach) competed in Ice Dance at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games. Dodds also competes in single skating at the international level. Dodd's brothers Jordan (two years younger) and Matthew (two years older) compete in singles and pairs at the international level.
