Namiotka/Coughlin teamed up in 2005. He moved to Delaware in order to skate with her. Namiotka's idol in skating is two-time Olympic Pairs Champion Ekaterina Gordeeva. Namiotka suffers from chronic pancreatitis and has been in and out of the hospital since she was 7. She controls the illness with a special diet. Coughlin started skating following into the footsteps of his older sister (who has retired from competitive skating by now).
