Cain also competes in singles and placed 5th and 6th in her Junior Grand Prix events in 2011. Cain's father Peter competed in Pairs with his sister Liz at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games, representing Australia, and is part of the couple's coaching team. Ashley Cain's cousin Sean Carlow competed in figure skating at the World level, representing Australia. Reagan also competed in swimming and is a High School State Champion in 50 yard freestyle and 200 yard relay.
