Evora/Ladwig teamed up in 2002. Evora began skating because her dad found her sister's old skates and they fit. Ladwig began skating because there was a pond in a park behind his home. He tried many sports such as wrestling, diving, American football, track and field before focusing on skating. He is working at various jobs as a waiter, zamboni driver, music technician, skate sharpener to finance his skating. Ladwig is married to Janet, an interior designer, since August 2006. Their son Holden was born in September 2009. Ladwig was a volunteer at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. His skating boot broke during the Short Program at the 2011 Four Continents Championships and he could only finish the performance as pair skater Rudi Swiegers (CAN) lent him his boot.
