Otoonbaatar was born in the USA, but the family moved back to Mongolia in July 2020. She did not have ice time there until September 2021 as the rink was closed and was able to train only off the ice. She had no coach in Mongolia. Otoonbaatar has relcoated to Canada for training. Coach Brian Orser (CAN) is the 1984 and 1988 Olympic silver medalist.
