Britschgi is the first Swiss man to win the European title (in 2025) since 1947. Together with Kimmy Repond he is the first Swiss skater to win a medal (bronze) at the European Championships (in 2023) since Sarah Meier took the title in 2011. Britschgi missed the 2023 National Championships as he had broken his collarbone in a cycling accident. Coach Michael Huth competed at the international level representing (East) Germany.
