Lipnitskaia is a gold medalist in the team event at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. She started skating at age four. She also tried out gymnastics but soon chose skating. She moved to Moscow to 2008 for better practice conditions and switched coaches and moved to Sochi end of 2015. Skaters she looks up to are Patrick Chan and Javier Fernandez. Coach Alexei Urmanov is the 1994 Olympic Champion.
