Gold is a bronze medalist in the team event at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Her twin sister Carly was a competitive skater at the national level. Gold started skating at age 7 after watching other girls at a skating rink birthday party. Gold and her mother Denise are taking part in the design of her costumes. Gold sat out the entire 2017/18 season.
