Medvedeva is a silver medalist in the team event of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. She is the first Lady to win the World Junior title and the World title the following year. She looks up to 2006 Olympic Champion Evgeni Plushenko. She missed the GP Final and Nationals in December 2017 as well as the 2018 World Championships as she was recovering from a stress fracture in her right foot. Medvedeva switched coaches following the 2017/18 season and relocated to Toronto for training, but returned to Russia in 2020 and switched back to her former coaches in September 2020.
