- bio
Elvis Stojko is named after singer Elvis Presley, because his parents were fans of him. Stojko was the first skater to land a quadruple-double and a quadruple-triple combination in competition. He sustained a severe groin injury early in 1998 which clearly handicapped him at the Olympic Games in Nagano. After his free program, Stojko limped off the ice, but he had won the silver medal. His parents are emigrants from Europe (mother from Hungary, father from Slovenia).
