In 2015, Tuktamysheva became the first Russian lady to win the World title in ten years after Irina Slutskaya had won in 2005. She started skating at age four and a half because she befriended other girls that were figure skaters. From 2007 to 2011, she split her training time between Glazov and St. Petersburg before moving to train in St. Petersburg full-time in August 2011. Tuktamysheva has landed triple Axels in competition and the quadruple toeloop in practice. She broke her foot in March 2014 and was off the ice for three months. She missed the 2019 National Championships due to illness (pneumonia).
