Vasiljevs is the first Latvian skater to earn a medal at the European Championships (bronze in 2022), to earn a medal at the ISU Grand Prix (silver at John Wilson Trophy 2022) and to win medals in the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (silver at JGP Riga and JGP Torun in 2015). Vasiljevs switched coaches following the 2015/16 season and moved to Switzerland. He currently does not have a coach after leaving the Skating School of Switzerland in Champéry in fall 2025.
