Lezin was taken to the ice rink by his aunt who wanted him to practice sports in order to strengthen his health. Lezin is married to Natalia. His wife was a skater and is now judging at the national level. Lezin's idol in skating is four-time European silver medalist Vladimir Kotin (1985-1988), who is now his coach. After the death of his coach Igor Rusakov, Lezin went to coaches Tchaikovskaia and Kotin. Lezin has landed quad flips in practice.
