Liu is an Olympic Champion in the Team Event at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. Liu is the first female skater to have performed a triple Axel and a quadruple jump (Lutz) in competition in one program (ISU Junior Grand Prix Lake Placid 2019). She is the oldest of five children in her family. Her father Arthur is an immigrant from China and she speaks Mandarin. Liu retired from competing in 2022 and decided to come back in 2024.
