Czisny began skating at one and a half years when her mother started taking skating lessons. Her twin sister Amber was also a figure skater and competed at the international level. Czisny graduated from University with a bachelor degree in Liberal Studies in May 2010. She switched coaches in spring 2010. Coach Yuka Sato is the 1994 World Champion.
