Road to Milano Cortina 2026: 83 Spots Secured in Boston
The Olympic dream has just come closer for 83 Skaters and Couples, who have secured Olympic quota spots at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2025 in Boston (USA). A total of 24 spots for Men, 24 for Women, 16 for Pairs and 19 for Ice Dance couples were allocated. For skaters who missed out in Boston, a second opportunity awaits at the Olympic Qualifying Competition in Beijing, China, from September 17-21, 2025. Additionally, some countries that earned quota places in Boston may compete for one extra spot in Beijing.
Quota places earned in Boston
Men
- Three quota places: USA, Japan
- Two quota places: France, Italy, Latvia
- One quota place: Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Georgia, Switzerland, Canada, Azerbaijan, Slovakia, Sweden, Peoples Republic of China, Estonia, Spain and Poland
- Eligible for one additional spot in Beijing: France, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea.
Women
- Three quota places: USA, Japan
- Two quota places: Republic of Korea, Switzerland
- One quota place: Belgium, Estonia, Canada, Italy, Kazakhstan, France, Israel, Austria, Finland, Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Great Britain and Lithuania
- Eligible for one additional spot in Beijing: Belgium and Estonia.
Pair Skating
- Two quota places: Germany, Italy, Canada, USA
- One quota place: Japan, Georgia, Hungary, Australia, Uzbekistan, Great Britain, Poland and The Netherlands
- Eligible for one additional spot in Beijing: Japan, Georgia, USA, Hungary, Australia and Uzbekistan.
Ice Dance
- Three quota places: USA, Canada
- Two quota places: Great Britain, France, Finland and Czechia
- One quota place: Italy, Spain, Georgia, Germany and Republic of Korea
- Eligible for one additional spot in Beijing: Italy, Spain and Georgia.
Remaining Quota Places available at Beijing Qualifier:
- Men: 5 spots
- Women: 5 spots
- Pairs: 3 spots
- Ice Dance: 4 spots
Only countries that did not secure a quota place in Boston and countries that got the necessary points for an additional entry in Boston, can compete in Beijing. Only Skaters or Couples that did not compete in the Free Skating or Free Dance in Boston, are eligible to try get an additional Olympic entry for their country in the Beijing qualifier.

Overall 142 quota places are available for the Olympic Winter Games February 2026:
- Men: 29 spots
- Women: 29 spots
- Pairs: 19 spots
- Ice Dance: 23 spots
How quota places are earned?
Countries were able to secure a maximum of three quota places per discipline at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2025, depending on placement points. The calculation follows the same ISU Championships quota system. However, Olympic spots were only allocated if the same number of competitors reached the Free Skating / Free Dance.
Individual Neutral Athletes can only earn quotas at the Olympic Qualifying event in Beijing as per the ISU Communication 2680 and for further information please refer to the AIN Q&A here.
