Mesmerizing Fournier Beaudry & Cizeron triumph at Finlandia Trophy

The new team of Laurence Fournier Beaudry & Guillaume Cizeron of France continues to amaze in their first season. They danced off with gold, celebrating their second ISU Grand Prix title at the ISU Grand Prix Finlandia Trophy, as the sixth and last event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2025/26 concluded Saturday in Helsinki (FIN). The audience at Helsinki Ice Hall enjoyed a large variety of styles, music and emotion in a beautiful Free Dance competition.

Laurence Fournier Beaudry & Guillaume Cizeron of France dance off with gold in only their second international competition. Four-time ISU World medalists Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier of Canada earned the silver medal while the bronze went to the United States team Emilea Zingas & Vadym Kolesnik. All three medal winning teams qualified for the ISU Grand Prix Final.

Fournier Beaudry & Cizeron put on a mesmerizing dance to “The Whale” full of intricate movement. The Grand Prix de France Champions effortlessly executed difficult footwork, twizzles and lifts that were seamlessly woven into the choreography.
Fournier Beaudry & Cizeron netted 124.29 points and accumulated 204.18 points overall.
“We had a really good time today on the ice,” Cizeron said. “We love this program. It really is maturing and evolving in a beautiful way, and we love performing it every time.
“It was our first time competing outside of France, and we're very proud of what we achieved here. We're very happy with the moment that we had today on the ice.”
Gilles & Poirier’s beautiful performance to “Vincent” was highlighted by innovative lifts and smooth steps. Her unique dress, with Van Gogh’s painting of the “Starry Night” printed on it, enhanced their elegant performance.

The reigning ISU World silver medalists scored 122.55 points for a total of 202.11 points.
“We felt really strong and comfortable on the ice and very connected with our program and with the music,” Poirier commented.
“There's so much room for this program still to grow. It still feels like it's in its infancy, and we're looking forward to going home and being able to develop it more as we get closer to the Games.
“This week was a big success for us. We feel really happy with our performances.”
Zingas & Kolesnik had chosen “Romeo and Juliet” by Sergei Prokofiev for their Free Dance and impressed with their emotion and technical detail.

The Cup of China silver medalists picked up 117.51 points for their Free Dance which added up to 196.02 points overall.
“We feel really happy that we were able to compete in Finland, for the third year now, and finally we did what we came here to do, and performed in a way that we were proud of,” Zingas said.
“Honestly, we were really nervous going into this event, and there was some buzz around the Final, but we just focused on each other and what we needed to do.”
“This was a really important competition in our career, because we made it to the Finals for the first time,” Kolesnik added. “It was an honor to skate in such a strong group of competitors.”
Olivia Smart & Tim Dieck (ESP) came fourth with their powerful “Dune II” program (192.06 points). Dancing to “Fix You”, 2018 Olympic bronze medalists Maia and Alex Shibutani (USA) finished fifth on 185.68 points followed by Diana Davis & Gleb Smolkin (GEO) in sixth (184.13 points).
In addition to the three medalists of Finlandia Trophy, the following Ice Dance couples qualified for the ISU Grand Prix Final: Madison Chock & Evan Bates (USA), Lilah Fear & Lewis Gibson (GBR) and Allison Reed & Saulius Ambrulevicius (LTU).
