The International Skating Union presents episode 2 from the Frozen Wonders series by Michaela Carrot, an awe-inspiring journey into the world of wild ice skating. Join Michaela as she explores the most breathtaking frozen landscapes around the globe—from alpine lakes to glacier caves and beyond. This series captures the magic of skating on nature’s most pristine ice, combining adventure, beauty, and a deep connection to the winter world.

Episode 2: Oeschinensee a rare winter delight

In this next installment, Michaela ventures into the heart of the Swiss Alps for a breathtaking glide across the wild ice of Oeschinensee. Watch as the frozen expanse comes alive beneath her blades.

Nestled within a UNESCO World Heritage site, Oeschinensee is famed for its turquoise waters and dramatic mountain backdrop. In summer, it's a hiker’s paradise; but every so often, a rare winter graces the lake with perfect ice, transforming it into a skater’s wonderland. This year, nature smiled on Michaela and her team, freezing the lake into a crystal-clear rink and offering a fleeting, magical chance to dance on ice.
